Tango – culture, music, dance

Dorota Tango’s Travels

  • This odyssey starts in Buenos Aires, home of tango – a vibrant tango community with a wide variety of the expression of tango, placed in a South American community rich in Spanish and Italian culture. From there by air, land and sea we plan to explore in Europe and Asia the universality of tango and the unique histories, culture and food. Join us!

  • Fellow travel tragics!

Alex, perhaps like Don Quixote, seeks to live life passionately – to dance tango is to experience all the passions of the music and the lyrics – “Que me quiten lo bailao” Miguel Bucino, 1942 – the dance stays with you, calls you to return to the abrazo and join with your partner and the music (it takes three to tango!). Like Don Quixote also Alex has his Dulcinea, and tango played a significant part in the development of his love:

The way we danced ’til three
The way you’ve changed my life
No, no, they can’t take that away from me
No, they can’t take that away from me
    (Ira and George Gershwin)

We are not aiming to “tick off” all the classical highlights and photo-ops but to experience as much as we can the pleasures of the ordinariness of life, and amidst that ordinariness enjoy intense and pleasurable experiences.
